Description
Electronic Design Engineer required for a leading Aerospace company based in Cheltenham to be responsible for the detailed electronic design and development of Avionic products taking initial design concept right through to productionisation.
Key Skills
- Experience of High speed/high density Digital design
- VHDL Coding experience
- ASIC/VHDL/FPGA design knowledge
- Good working Knowledge of Mentor graphics (ModelSim)
- Familiarity with safety critical development environments
- Able to work as part of a multi-skilled team
- Cover the full product design and development life cycle
The Job
- Develop avionic electronic products so that they are fit for the purpose by applying the appropriate development processes, as defined by company and project procedures.
- Provide suggestions for potential process improvements and identify and participate in the evaluation of new tools and techniques.
- Accomplish allocated tasks and report progress to supervisor ensuring that project schedules and deadlines are met.
The Person
- Experienced Digital design engineer ideally with some Analogue knowledge, capable of taking a design from initial design concept through to productionisation
- Must be hands-on, flexible and practical, with experience of concurrent engineering and designing for manufacture
- Up to date technical knowledge with the ability to design complex electronic circuits with the minimum learning curve
- Experience of designing high density, high speed digital circuits, on multi-layer PCBs using surface mount/BGA technology
- Have a drive to proactively improve the department in terms of design techniques and processes
- Experience of Mentor Graphics (Design Architect, ModelSim, AccuSim), design and development of high density FGPA/EPLD devices and of producing documentation to avionic standards would be an advantage
