Client:
Our client a leading software company requires Contract Senior C++ Linux developer for 3 month role in Dublin City Centre, Ireland.
Role:
You will work within our Technology team in our Dublin office to optimize, improve and streamline existing Linux-based solutions. The work will involve using C/C++ to process voice samples captured from a mobile device using the phone's microphones. Strong quantitative and mathematical skills will be required to work alongside scientists to optimize complex functionality in preparation for large-scale deployment. The C++ Developer is expected to have strong experience implementing mathematical-based functionality in C/C++ for Linux platforms, and possess the flexibility and desire to learn new technologies. Experience with Digital Signal Processing, audio, and speech-related technologies desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Take existing speech solutions and optimize code for large-scale deployment;
- Develop code improvements for faster execution, reduced storage requirements, and multi-threading;
- Re-write existing audio processing libraries with own efficient implementation;
- Work closely with research scientists to integrate designs, components, and ideas together;
- Introduce best practices and new solutions to improve speed, usability, and performance;
- Deliver on assigned software design, development, testing, and documentation tasks;
- Strive to improve capabilities, pick up new technology, look to add value.
Person Specification:
- The drive to adapt to new and complex technologies in a timely manner;
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience using C++;
- Extensive experience with developing on Linux platforms;
- Proven background in scientific programming and numerical methods;
- B.S. in Engineering, Maths or similar quantitative subject;
- Experience with speech processing, voice libraries, and Digital Signal Processing algorithms a plus
