A new position has arisen for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a Key Client based in Chichester,West Sussex. The position has come up purely to organic and healthy growth within the organisation and this person is needed to help with a back log of projects that will enable the business to service there growing client base.

You will provide day-to-day hands-on administration of the communication and infrastructure systems and be responsible for providing reliable and fast infrastructure and communications systems which consist of HP network, and Palo Alto firewalls, HP servers and storage systems, Windows operating systems, and SQL database, whilst ensuring data is kept secure and backed up.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot and remediate 2nd and 3rd level issues impacting the operation of the corporate voice and data infrastructure
  • Responsible for the data centre and day to day operations of the servers, storage systems, operating systems, databases and communication systems.
  • Perform/oversee system adminstration and patching of these systems
  • Ensure that all implemented projects meet industry best practice guidelines
  • Writing and enforcement of company security and IT acceptance use policies
  • Provide senior management with risk and vulnerability reports
  • Assist and support Vendor Security Analysts as they perform vulnerability reports
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Ensure that all communication rooms are fit for purpose, clean and resilient
  • Document the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
  • Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine their applicability to solving our business challenges and needs
  • Performance and availability of hardware and software as it relates to servers, storage, database, network and communication systems
  • Responsible for the security to protect the hardware and software and information resources of the company from unauthorized access, tampering or physical damage. This includes the management of firewalls, anit-virus software, and Active Directory
  • Scheduling of hardware maintenance activities and system test to ensure effectiveness of the hardware and software in use
  • Assist in the development of plans to recover operating capability in the event of emergencies; ITDR
  • Performs related duties as assigned


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Information Systems/Computer Science or related preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional and proven experience of delivering large enterprise level IT projects
  • Experience in supporting an enterprise level IT infrastructure
  • Hands on experience with technical troubleshooting
  • Desirable - HP Network (including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, BGP MPLs)
  • Virtualization technologies, VMWare 4 and 5 (VRangers & SRM)
  • Windows OS Platform (XP/7)
  • MS Exchange 2010
  • MS SCCM
  • MS Server 2008r2 onwards
  • McAfee ePO AntiVirus
  • Citrix XenApp 6.5
  • Backup Exec 2012 and Symantec Message Lab technologies
  • Microsoft UAG and TMG technology
  • HP Storage - EVA and 3PAR
  • MS SQL Server
  • Firewalls -Palo Alto
  • Window Server 2008 Active Directory


This role is paying up to £35,000 and also offers Bonus: 5% of salary - dependent on business results paid in May each year. Please respond ASAP with your most relevant CV if you feel this role fits your skill set.
