My Client, a large financial services company based nationwide is currently looking for an experienced business design manager for a contract position leading and shaping a large change portfolio
The role leads business architecture activity through a team of business architects on a significant programme of high complexity, or across a Change portfolio for a business area or domain to define target operating model and change portfolios. Typically programmes and portfolios will have a budget of around £25m to £50m
Key Accountabilities:
*Provide executive insight: Engages with senior and executive level stakeholders to shape change based on business strategy for portfolio, programme or business unit, translating strategic objectives into scope statements to shape potential change initiatives, presenting a coherent case for the proposed change in line with the target operating model (TOM) requirements. Scans the market for emerging technology and business trends and innovation, identifying those that may be relevant and sharing them with stakeholders to assess adoption benefits.
*Shape and align change programmes: Works with business and IT colleagues to provide pre-programme consultancy on complex business concerns, defining solution options and implications and providing recommendations and shaping delivery roadmaps. Manages and governs repeatable approach for business architecture and model frameworks working across enterprise to agree standards, promoting the use of industry standard techniques.
*Solve design issues and challenges: Works across portfolio or complex programme to deliver project Business Solution Designs for portfolio projects/programmes that are in line with the agreed TOM and to address scope or design issues, identifying key design decisions and progressing them to resolution, working collaboratively with business and IT colleagues.
*Govern business design: Plans and manages the path through business design governance for all assigned programmes, working closely with other Architects, Analysts, programme and business stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of milestones, deliverables and content and quality assure all architecture deliverables in scope. Chairs and runs local design governance forums to agreed standards.
*Develop models and maintain the target and transition state operating models: Leads/manages the development of TOMs, route maps and other architectural assets for assigned programme/portfolio or business domains, working closely with business colleagues and IT architects through the life cycle stages to understand the change and its impact on the whole organisation. Owns the design integrity across a domain or large change programme, with accountability for target and interim state operating models, performing design impact assessment for change requests and validating that the delivered solution achieves agreed target. Illustrates alignment between strategic goals, change objectives and key business decisions across all aspects, highlighting gaps in capabilities, delivery of strategy and proposing relevant solutions.
