ABOUT THE PROJECT
GTN Technical Staffing has an urgent need for a strong Senior UNIX Admin for a 3-6M Contract (with the possibility of conversion to Direct-Hire) opportunity in Irving, TX. Our client is feeling a deep sense of urgency and will begin conducting technical phone screens ASAP. The Senior UNIX Administrator is responsible for the design, planning and maintenance of UNIX infrastructure systems and storage area networks. These include over 250 UNIX and Linux Servers, the production backup infrastructure, DNS, greater than 500 Terabytes of disk storage, hundreds of application services, core infrastructure services, disaster recovery operations, security and interoperation with Windows, Networking and remote systems.
- Lead New Infrastructure Technical Projects/Software Application Engineering
- Establish Criteria/Perform Technology Evaluations - Lab Analysis/Proof-of-Concept/Supporting Analysis and Documentation
- Adhere to Data Retention Requirements through Consistent/Reliable Backup Infrastructure
- Ensure All Changes to UNIX/Linux Production Environment adhere to Change Management Procedures
- Ensure Adherence to Security Policies - Security Updates to UNIX/Linux Systems
- Systems Integration Expertise/Negotiate Technical Design/Deployment Strategy
- Navigate/Resolve Unusually Complex Technical Problems and Provide Solutions
- Lead/Define/Plan/Design Innovative Solutions - Financial Analysis of Technical Alternatives
- Cross-Platform Technical SME - Subject Matter Expert
- Provide Coordination/Consulting Support
- Frequently Interact with Vendors to Influence Products/Services.
- Brief Senior Management on Risk Analysis/Financial Implications/Crisis Management, etc.
