The client would like an articulate professional, preferably with a few years of experience, to join a small team within a very well-known financial organisation. The job is to provide development and application support as part of a rota; the client is growing this development team and is far from the BAU (Business As Usual) phase, so the successful applicant will be working both on fresh development and technical support of the application.
This role would be perfect for an Agile Developer who is very open to change as the role is very varied and will continue to evolve in scope over the coming years. Right now, candidates can expect a 70 / 30 split between development and application support but that can change, going heavier on the programming. There is no distinguishing between the developers and the supporteveryone is counted as a software engineer and participates actively in daily sprints.
Applicants should have experience of application support / development experience with Java (JEE/JSF), JUnit and / or JavaScript. Other technologies include Webservices (REST/SOAP) and DB2 (using JPA), AIX and Datapower servers. The client works in a high volume / high availability environment so applicants with a background in banking, gaming or high-end eCommerce will be more desirable.
