Group Financial Controller.

Due to the continued growth of this group we are currently looking to recruit an interim Group Financial Controller who is experienced in leading multi-location finance transformation agendas.

Objectives:
To oversee Regulatory and Statutory Financial Reporting across the Group
To manage the UK Regulatory relationships
To lead the creation of a shared services utility for Finance operations
To lead the Tax function
To oversee the Financial Systems

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Regulatory and Statutory Financial Reporting including:
Appropriate financial controls and governance

Adherence to local and Group Regulatory and Statutory requirements
Clarity over Group standards for accounting policies
Consistent application of accounting policies and principles across the group
Effective tax compliance and reporting
Consistency and standardization in financial reporting processes across the Group
Interface to the UK Regulators
Ownership of Finance Systems including governance and oversight of their maintenance and development

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following characteristics:

- Background in Financial Services and/or a regulated environment

- Experience of being responsible for the financial reporting of a FTSE 100 company:
They must have an appreciation for the control environment required in a listed company,
Accounting policies
Reporting standards.
Technically very strong & detail orientated

- Experience of acquisitions and in particular acquisition accounting is desired with a proven background of integrating different systems, accounting platforms and finance teams

- Critically, the successful candidate will be comfortable with scale and complexity, but they will also need to roll their sleeves up and operate effectively within a small lean team where the requirement for change management skills will be high.

- Interpersonally, the candidate will have strong leadership skills together with warmth and charisma. They will be required to establish themselves in a small team and will be expected to manage and develop their team members.

- In addition the candidate must be robust enough to engage confidently and effectively with senior leaders across the business, and able to stand their ground on important accounting and financial control points.
