IT Department Administrative Officer

My client is a large leading public sector organisation based in the Nottinghamshire Area. They are seeking an experienced IT Administrative Officer to join them for a 1 month rolling contract opportunity.

Role Purpose: To provide Mobile Telephones Administrative Support and Data management within the Corporate IT Department.

Role Context: This role requires an experienced administrator with the ability to provide an efficient administrative service to the Department with some IT awareness so that they can be quickly trained in configuring mobile devices such as Blackberry mobile phones. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and excellent Excel skills are required. Asset Management and Financial background would be an advantage.

This role requires the candidate to be able to prioritise workload and able to work on their own initiative.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Provide support in the migration of mobile phones from multiple network providers to a preferred partner.

- Manage Service Desk incidents and requests, analysis and fault resolution.

- Manage Team email account and requests received.

- Maintenance and preparation of technical and administrative processes and documentation.

- Maintenance of various spreadsheets to manage allocation of assets and cross charges to other cost centres.

- Development and maintenance of administrative systems to support communications equipment and infrastructure procurement and supplier liaison eg Mobile telephones, Blackberry, including configuration and support.

- Prioritisation of own individual workload.

- Acting upon own responsibility, within agreed parameters

DIMENSIONS

* To maintain the Departmental Ordering System by using the established Spreadsheets and Databases, chasing of Orders.
* To ensure that the IT Asset Register is kept up to date with Equipment changes.
* To ensure that the Agreed Capital Spreadsheet is maintained.
* To provide support for established Departmental Systems and Processes.
* To document processes and procedures to agreed format.
* To maintain a record of Mobile Phones.
* To maintain a record of Pagers.
* To arrange re-charges and to ensure that recharges are communicated to Finance Department.
* Use of other computerised services as required.
* Use initiative in the continuing development of job role and team work and undertake training as required.
* Assist with the induction, training and support of other staff as appropriate including agency/bank staff.
* Attend regular departmental meetings and have regular supervision.
