Senior Project Manager, AGILE, DSDM, SCRUM

Agile Practioner and Senior Project Manager are required to act as an Agile Mentor and champion co-ordinating activities to launch agile delivery techniques on a Prince2 public sector estate.  

Experienced in several of the following techniques, and knowledge of the full set, is essential;

  • DSDM
  • SCRUM
  • XP
  • Lean Programming
  • Kanban
  • UP
  • DAD
  • Deliver a project plan for Introducing agile techniques to the estate
  • Oversee delivery and implementation of the project/s as directed by the Programme Director;
  • Overall accountability for planning, structuring, leading and executing the project;
  • Manage project level communications and stakeholder engagement, ensuring integrated business change is delivered and Agency resource support is identified in a timely manner and agreed by the business units eg: testing resource, requirements workshops, document reviews etc
  • Champion Agile approaches, gathering engagement and commitment to their operation across the estate and project and programme delivery in particular. 
  • Supporting the Head of Digital Strategy and Design to deliver project in line with GDS principles.
  • Supporting the Head of Centres of Excellence to implement suitable agile approaches eg testing, requirements, Assurance etc.
  • Supporting Application management and Operations/Service management functions to implement/operate with agile project delivery.  
  • Manage and commit expenditure from the budget on behalf of the Head of Service, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivery.
  • Manage the procurement of any systems and services in line with financial and commercial policy, through the review and assurance of documentation (eg: FSCs, ITPs etc. if required);
  • Report progress of the project at regular intervals to the Programme Director, Operational Review Meetings and other governance boards.
  • Play an active part in the  and governing boards and other activities where these will require deliverables from the projects;
  • Manage the projects and monitor the overall progress and initiating corrective action as appropriate, acting as the initial escalation point for issues and concerns;
  • Management and resolution of project level risks and issues, escalating (with recommended options) to the Programme Director and associated governance boards, as required;
  • Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects;
  • Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the project is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the IM Programme plan;
