Technical Accountant - Leading Retail Bank in Gloucester - £370
  • Provide technical accounting advice and support to the Mortgages Finance team and the Business as required
  • Support the completion of the Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual regulatory reporting returns including Bank of England, FSA, IFRS 7 and Basel II reporting.
  • Support the collation of timely, accurate and supportable Impairment financials and commentary through successful execution of EUC and process controls.
  • Support timely, accurate and supportable month end EY adjustments and MI packs through successful governance of models and source data feeds and the execution of model and process controls.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Finance, Business Intelligence and Credit Risk colleagues across heritages, division and group to support the objectives of the Financial Accounting team.
  • Maintain a rigorous control environment sufficient to provide satisfactory comfort over financials collated and reported.
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with External and Internal Audit to facilitate the prevention of red audit issues within area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the Financial Accounting team, taking ownership for the development and success of the team as a whole.
  • Complete statutory training.
  • Support the Implementation of new IT systems to facilitate the reporting and consolidation of the monthly/quarterly returns to the FSA, by UAT and validating processes


Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements eg COREP & CRD1V for mortgages ensuring all requirements are captured and reporting capability is built
