My client, a global tier 1 bank, is looking for a contractor to join their office in South Yorkshire, for a rolling 6 month contract paying up to £550/day.

Job Description
The candidate will join a team of WebSphere MQ administrators who are responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the bank's infrastructure. The role will also involve providing technical direction to other members of the team & across the group.

The primary responsibilities of the Technical Analyst include:
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of WebSphere MQ
- Build of MQ objects across multiple platforms
- Build development environments and provide support during application development.
- Build production systems and provide support through to go live
- Provide documentation for production support
- Manage small projects and deliver to deadlines
- Flexible in terms of the hours covered to work with other entities around the group
- Be able to hold technical discussions with colleagues around the organisation and provide managerial updates.

Special skills required:
At least 3 years of administration of WebSphere MQ version 6 and higher across Unix, Linux and Z-series platforms.
Strong practical experience with MQ clustering and security.
Understanding of integration patterns
Familiarity of scripting languages such as Perl and Shell.
Good analytical and logical thinking is essential
Good communication skills

Special skills desirable:
WebSphere Message Broker and i-series experience is beneficial.
Experience of Java, Web technologies and WebSphere Portal desirable but not essential.
Experience of using Microsoft Visio
