GROUP ACCOUNTANT - PUBLIC SECTOR

I am currently recruiting for a Group Accountant on behalf of a council based in the South West. This is a contract role that will run for an initial 3 month period with a very good chance that it will be extended into 2014.
As the Group Accountant, you will be the primary point of contact within the Corporate Services Directorate. You will oversee a vertical portfolio/work stream that includes processing both public and private sector grant applications.
The post holder will be analysing the claims and from a financial perspective and manipulate data entry on the Agresso Financial System.
The majority of this post is autonomous and you would be left to your own devices with little to no supervision.
A qualified chartered accountant is essential along with experience in senior financial management within a council or similar public sector authority.
