Description

We Are What We Do are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Drupal freelancer to join our team in London for 4-6 weeks starting Friday 2nd August.

This is a short-term contract position, though we are interested in building relationships with Drupal freelancers and small teams for future projects. We are also recruiting for a permanent Drupal developer (see here).

About us

We Are What We Do is a not-for-profit behaviour change company with over eight years experience in shifting the everyday behaviours of individuals and tackling a series of social and environmental issues, using mainstream and populist products and services.

We make stuff that people want to buy or use and which have positive behaviours built in, aiming to reach massive audiences and help address major social and environmental issues.

As an organisation, we set out to create products and services that appeal to mainstream audiences and generate positive, sustained behaviour change. Drawing on our own experience and lots of clever research in behavioural economics and social psychology, we’ve used this distinct approach to launch projects like Historypin, the I’m Not a Plastic Bag and Internet Buttons. At the heart of our work is the understanding that telling people what to do doesn’t work. So our creations are things people simply like, which incidentally help them to do more.

About you

You’ve got a track record of delivering Drupal sites based on custom modules. You’re happy working with a diverse team of project managers, programmers and designers and under the direction of a technical lead. You’re used to receiving briefs and translating functional and technical specifications into a development plan, then using test-driven-development to build reliable Drupal sites. Hopefully you’ve also got a passion for changing the world and, if you’re a Drupal programmer, you probably already know how.

How to apply

Please send:
  • your up-to-date CV
  • a Drupal 7 module you’ve written that shows your ability with the platform
  • your day-rate (for not-for-profit organisations)

  • We can only accept applications made in this way, specifically with and cannot consider developers without code samples in the format requested.

Recruitment agents: We’re sure that you’re very nice people, but we don’t do any recruitment through agencies. Thanks.
