Front-end Developer

Description

CloudHire is searching for a talented front-end developer to help us complete our prototype and launch our beta. We need someone to cut up our remaining photoshop designs into HTML/CSS using SASS (scss variant), compass, and normalize. The basic HTML/CSS structure is already in place, so we need someone who can come alongside our existing work (we'll provide an intro) and deliver clean semantic HTML and CSS for our remaining pages.

Preference will be given if you:

Are familiar with Rails including the asset pipeline and views/partials.

Have the ability to run a Rails application on your own development machine.

Are comfortable using git and github including branches and pull requests.

Can ad-lib as necessary when we need a page created that differs slightly from the photoshop files

Know your way around JavaScript and jQuery

You might be the right fit if:

You know what @import means

You're not afraid to use SASS variables like $logo-height or $dark-blue

You don't mind organizing your CSS into several small well-named files

You're comfortable using a grid system

You consider how to use delegation to optimize jQuery event binding

We're looking for someone with high availability (30+ hours/week) over the next 3 to 4 weeks, with part-time availability thereafter.
