Data Quality Analysts, Multiple Openings

Responsible for analysing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. Typically provides technical assistance to lower level staff.

This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff as compared to the Bus Info Analyst II job.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Data Quality Rules/Checks using SQL or DQ Tools
  • Design and Develop Data Quality profiling requirements and metrics
  • Participate in Data Governance processes to define standards relating to data quality
  • Create data quality dashboards specific to application, business unit, or data governance domain needs
  • Identify data quality issues in reports, applications, or across data sources, assess causes of problems, and lead or participate in efforts to remediate data quality root causes - within data warehouse or upstream sources.
  • Responsible for advancing WellPoint's Data Quality Program through the development and use of data quality tools

Job Qualifications:

  • Requires an AA, BA/BS degree or technical institute training and Min 3-5 years experience within a BI, Data Quality, or Database mgt analyst role (within a healthcare/payer organization preferred)
  • Strong SQL experience with extremely large and complex data environments required (5+ years)
  • Teradata experience strongly preferred
  • Must have a strong aptitude towards data analysis and learning new technologies
  • Must be able to trace/diagnose root causes in the data, and make recommendations for remediation
  • Prior experience with Data Quality Tools such as Informatica or IBM Information Analyzer also a huge plus, although not required.

  • 2+ years working as a business/systems analyst within an Agile/Iterative delivery model preferred.
  • 2+ years working on projects with exposure to Sr. leadership.
  • 2+ years using Rational Tools such as Requisite Pro or equivalent requirements tracking tool to maintain requirements and trace relationships preferred
  • Excellent understanding of healthcare and ability to anticipate needs of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive to results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and planning skills required.
