Create, maintain and own the 5-year roadmap for their domain area! This is an exciting time to join the team as it transforms its information systems to deliver superior customer service, information insights, and analytics to its members. As a key member of the Business Solutions Group's Architecture team, your expertise and input will help shape future analytics. Successful candidates will be challenged to drive company-wide bottom line impact through the effective use of architecture to drive IT resources for maximum long term business impact.

Required Experience:

  • Financial Services, Mortgage, and/or Banking experience 
  • 10+ years of experience working with SQL Server including TSQL programming
  • 3 years of experience working as a database architect specifically, including Datamodelling
  • Experience with metadata management, data stewardship, data quality, IT governance, Enterprise Data Models, and Enterprise Frameworks.
  • Experience controlling data model changes through active involvement throughout the project life cycle, as well as reviewing and approving data designs.
  • Experience with database development objects such as stored procedures, triggers and views
  • Experience in Microsoft BI tools such as SSIS and SSRS
  • Solid experience in dealing with VLDBs (very large databases)
  • Data architecture experience supporting OLTP applications
  • Extensive experience with database performance tuning techniques
  • Thorough understanding of SQL server indexing strategy
  • Experience in database re-factoring, re-engineering and warehouse development
  • Sound knowledge of Datamodelling for data ware house applications.
  • Experience participating in governance reviews, publishing standards and enforcing them through pre-defined work processes

To be successful, you must understand the work processes and information needs of solution, information, technology, or enterprise architects and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other architects and business leaders.
  • Partner with DBA's to ensure optimum data performance
  • Support the DBA's and Application Architects to provide the best solutions to meet current project needs that are aligned with strategic direction
  • Manage and maintain the data model library and data inventory.
  • Review and approve the data designs
  • Develop common data taxonomy, data dictionaries, and MDM programs
  • Articulates strengths and weaknesses associated with architecture options and approaches currently in place
  • Provides tactical or strategic/target plans and roadmap
  • Provides interpretation of data processing policies, practices and technical standards
  • Develop standards (data definition, tools, platform) as related to information management, data warehouse, data governance and business intelligence
  • Acts as lead on internal data architecture projects including tool and platform evaluation
  • Information Architect is responsible for providing data architecture and modelling services for the enterprise data warehouse and master data management systems.
  • Working on multiple projects, the Information Architect will facilitate the collection of information requirements, as well as the development and management of conceptual, logical and physical data models to support the data and information needs of the business community.
  • The Information Architect will define sound data architecture and modelling standards and practices for the data warehouse and master data management systems.
  • Provide a leadership role in the development and communication of Data Management strategies, principles, governance, security, standards and best practices using a collaborative directional approach
  • Develop and maintain both operational and data warehouse conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Demonstrates advanced experience gathering data requirements and developing and delivering data architecture in both logical and dimensional data model implementation
  • Partner with Business, Team Members and Analysts to gather business, data and reporting requirements and translate these business needs into logical data structures.
  • Drive the development of database architectural artifacts such as the Logical Data Model, Conceptual model and Physical data models.
  • R&D and understanding industry trends and what is and isn't applicable for the Bank
  • Proactively evaluating new versions to understand available capabilities to help drive our upgrade path
  • All materials produced must be memorialized in writing and cannot be verbal
  • Work effectively with other architects to ensure architectural decisions are not made in a vacuum. Proactively recognize when architectural decisions for their domain may have cross architectural impacts and work to identify best solution with other architects
  • Partner with teams inside and outside of IT on a project basis as a consultant to provide guidance
  • Define and enforce architectural standards for their domains. Enforcement must be done professionally and politically
  • Delivery of complex enterprise data solutions with comprehension in areas such as Architecture, Configuration, Security, Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Infrastructure
  • Ability to design and enhance enterprise scale systems for large transactional and reporting data.
  • Participate in the design of complex projects, and be the technical authority in this area for the Business Solutions Group.
  • Knowledge of Big Data and the principles to support the use of this type of technology
