WordPress Developer

Description

We’re looking for a full time WordPress developer to support the main corporate website, including upgrades, issue resolution, and general maintanance.
In addition, the successful candidate will be highly capable of developing bespoke plugins.
We’re based in central Birmingham, and would require you to work from the office a couple of days a week but the remainder of your time can be worked remotely if preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 2 years experience of PHP programming, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Grasp of the full web-stack, from relational database to working knowledge of HTML/CSS.

Experience of PHP 5 and OOP beneficial

Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de-facto standard plugins

Membership and transactional experience required

Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level

Knowledge of existing inbuilt WordPress functions

Creation of custom post types

Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform to the WordPress coding standards

Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code

Theme/Template integration

Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) beneficial

Experience creating multi-lingual websites Advantageous

Knowledge and experience of web accessibility

Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues

Use of jQuery / AJAX / Prototype / script.aculo.us an advantage
