Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
A Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is needed to lead the mechanical design of my clients energy's fuel cell stacks and system components.
Key Accountabilities:
* To work to agreed deadlines set by the VP Engineering and ensure high quality designs suitable to meet company objectives
* Accountable to the VP Engineering for successful delivery of engineering designs, systems and product prototypes
* Control of budgets for agreed programs
Technical skills and knowledge;
* Proficient in design using with SolidWorks CAD software and Ansys for stress analysis
* Familiarity with the application of CAD design as an input to Comsol multi-physics CFD analysis
* Several years of experience of the design of light engineering products suitable for manufacturing at annual volumes of 100,000 to > 1 million p.a.
* A good working knowledge of seal design for medium pressure applications
* An in depth knowledge of mass production techniques including press metalwork and injection moulding
* Excellent mechanical skills as applied to critical component assembly
* Experience of outsourcing prototype components with local suppliers
* Attention to detail and use of formal risk analysis tools such as FMEA.
* Experience of managing drawing controls to ISO standards
* Ability to build/commission designs and produce documented assembly methods for supply to third party manufacturers
