Description
2 x Unix System Administrators are needed for 4 days per week inclusive of Saturday and Sunday for 3 months initially - $400pd. You will have experience of supporting Solaris in a large scale enterprise production environment.Your technical background will include extensive and proven experience of storage migrations, OS patching, Shell Scripting, advanced OS troubleshooting, new builds and deployments, software installation, database installation (Oracle and/or Sybase). Although you will also be comfortable covering simple support issues as required.
Role and responsibilities:
- Able to carry out technical design reviews of the solution as well as being able to carry out UNIX and Linux builds across a wide range of HP and Oracle (Sun) platforms.
- Acceptance testing of latest builds, patch releases, hardware platforms and OS software releases from the Engineering team for signoff into the production operating environment. Documentation of process and concepts to assist in even distribution of knowledge in the wider Unix SA teams.
