The IT Applications Consultant (Developer/Programmer/Programmer Analyst) - Generation IT is responsible for supporting IT application systems & underlying databases for clients in the Generation business that includes Power Generation, Environmental, Wholesale Energy and Fuels, Generation Project Development, and Generation Project Construction.

This role is focused on, but not limited to support of off-the-shelf and developed software applications that are used for the accounting, purchase, and scheduling of natural gas. This involves working with clients to identify their business requirements, providing technical expertise in the evaluation of software solutions, design, configuration, testing, implementation, training, documentation, upgrades and ongoing production support of these solutions. Production support includes troubleshooting custom developed applications, interaction with software vendors for software packages, as well as solving and responding to client requests. Ability to work independently or as a team member is required.

Responsibilities include application support, development, analysis and project management for the Generation Business. This position requires extensive business knowledge of the applications and business processes which support natural gas scheduling and procurement, as well as other Generation business operations.

The successful candidate will frequently be working independently, on small project teams or as a team member on larger projects.

SKILLS

Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members and vendors required. Must have strong analysis, decision making and problem solving abilities. Good organizing and planning skills are necessary to work independently. Ability to work in a team environment needed, along with strong technical IT skills that include application architecture, IT Software Development Lifecycle, database/SQL query,.NET programming, and JAVA programming experience.
Project management experience required. Specific knowledge of natural gas tracking systems and electronic data interchange applications is desired.
