Description
The IT Infrastructure Consultant - Database Administration will be responsible for developing and supporting the company's Client Server database environment. The consultant will handle project work, new release installs, product upgrades, development and maintenance of database standards and procedures, and day-to-day support of the database server environment including a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.In addition, the database administrator will provide database assistance to application development initiatives including logical and physical database design, database creation and maintenance, connectivity issues and general development support. This work will be conducted in a strong team environment that is committed to client service.
SKILLS
Must have completed a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline; a minimum of two years of relevant IT experience is required. The successful candidate must also have the ability to effectively communicate in a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills. Successful candidates must have problem solving, communication and decision making skills.
Three years of database administration work experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server is preferred. Experience with supporting large environments is preferred. Familiarity with database design, SQL, Unix and Windows operating systems, Unix Shell Scripting and connectivity tools is desired. Project management experience preferred.
