Responsibilities
  • Post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance, and management of mobile communication systems
  • Focuses on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system
  • Primarily focused on trunking concepts - basic networking familiarity for the support of consoles, data, and other products
  • Manages maintenance and customer service needs spanning multiple products integrated into a single system configuration
  • Performs system hardware and software installations on a project basis, and manages customer service needs through routine system maintenance on trunked and conventional systems, data networks, and dispatch centers
  • Provides primary point of contact for 2-10 customer sites as well as infrastructure backup for other technologists
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot system issues to ensure system availability
  • Performs system hardware and software installation and optimization
  • Provide technical assistance to others
  • Coach others in use of PC based tools
  • Manages system availability through routine system maintenance and performance monitoring
  • Supports the interfaces of larger systems as well as the LAN/WAN and microwave link networks, trunked systems, integrated network systems, and communication hubs
  • Provides primary point of contact for 2-5 customer sites that require end-to-end performance monitoring and management. May also be dedicated support providing system maintenance or management for a single customer
  • Coaches others in troubleshooting with computer based tools
  • Investigates opportunities to use new tool solutions

SKILLS Requirements
  • Associates Degree/Technical certificate/military training/Project Management certification and 6 years technical work experience (at least 2 years in project management)
  • Understands secure trunking and Client Server networking concepts
  • Understands technology, system interfaces, and functionality of the system
  • Understands requirements of system optimization, verification, and audit testing in ensuring system performance
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking
  • Intermediate knowledge of hardware and software tools available for both RF and networking
  • Ability to use computer to perform diagnostics remotely or locally across a network
  • Ability to learn to use computer operating systems and common application for characterizing and resolving issues for multiple technologies (Example: Unix, DOS, NT, Windows 98 and 2000)
  • General/Intermediate knowledge of computer systems including hardware, operating systems, and applications required for troubleshooting, characterization and resolution of issues for technology of responsibility
