Description
The Web Designer/Front End Developer is part of a design team that engages in every step of the design process from design to front-end development. In this position you must be comfortable taking conceptual designs through the full life cycle of concept to front end code. We are looking for a candidate that can work telecommute for a few months to complete a project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Capable of following the creative direction established for an interactive project
- Able to be a productive member of a creative team
- Willing to contribute in a team of designers while developing creative solutions for projects
- Experience implementing creative solutions that support a business or project’s objectives
- Experience employing the fundamentals of design, typography, and layout
- An understanding of limitations of implementing designs on the web
- Able to follow and implement organizational and industry best practices
- Experience implementing information architecture elements in their design to ensure the user’s goals are met
- Demonstrate experience delivering functional design from visual wireframes
- Able to be a highly participative member of a cooperative design session
- Proven knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Experience working with jQuery/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Flash (ActionScript) and other dynamic scripting a plus
- Proven proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, etc.
- Able to be self-sufficient in developing creative solutions
A minimum of 4 years of experience in web/interface design supported by a portfolio is required. Ability to create pixel perfect website designs and HTML/CSS code and a proven talent for creating fresh, unique, and professional designs is a must. Strong online portfolio of web design work and excellent proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, etc. are required. A strong understanding of typography, color, and usability and other design principles and professional written and oral communication skills are also required. Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment with high volume of on-going projects and have experience working with jQuery/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Flash (Actionscript) and other dynamic scripting is a plus. This position requires self-motivation, working well in a team environment and experience in illustration is aphis.
