Position: MiddleWare Consultant

Duration: 3-6 months

Location: Veldhoven, Netherlands

Job Description

  • Good understanding of the working of application Apache Tomcat, Glassfish, IIS.
  • Candidate should have done setups and configurations of these app Servers on Linux/Windows.
  • Hands on experience  either on JBOSS or IAS

Good to Have

  • Oracle Application Server - Forms, Reports knowledge
  • Basic Red Hat Linux and Windows system admin activities

Responsibilities

  • Should be able to quickly understand the Middleware setup - architecture and technical design on both in Windows as well as RHEL/Solaris systems
  • Configuration of tomcat, glassfish, IIS
  • Starting Stopping of application Servers
  • Application deployment  activities
  • Patch Management, Upgrade, Installation activities
  • Should be able to migrate applications from one hardware to another
  • Regular Log file checks
  • Assist Functional, other technical teams in application releases/projects
  • Regularly monitoring of the performance of the Application Server - provide suggestions for improvement, increase instances, parameter changes etc.
  • Troubleshooting in case of issues, coordinate with Database, Storage, networking groups if required.
  • If required should be able to provide a strategic database direction for the customer. eg whether to go for different Middleware, upgrade to higher version, perform basic cost-benefit analysis and propose to the higher management
  • Keep a track of the current licensing and future requirements
  • Basic bash, ksh, windows Scripting capabilities for aiding administration activities.
