Title: Sr. Project Manager
Type: Contract- 6 months
Location: Atlanta, GA 30339
The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for leading and managing IT technical projects. The Senior Project Manager, working within the guidelines and direction of the IT Governance department, must endeavor to provide the best solution(s) possible based on a thorough understanding of the technical requirements and the business needs.

Responsibilities:
- Manage Resource planning, Risk Mitigation, Communications, Implementation, and Post-Implementation activities for all assigned project and initiatives.
- Collaborate with project team, customers, and management to translate project proposals and priorities into technology solutions.
- Develop, communicate, and maintain detailed and high-level project plans.
- Assist the project team with setting the technical direction, identifying the required tasks, monitoring progress and determining completion.
- Direct and monitor the tasks of project team members and model team leadership skills.
- Execute timely and complete communication of project status and issues to project team, project sponsors, and senior management through status reporting.
- Manage risks by identifying project risk factors and developing risk mitigation plans.
- Manage issues by coordinating with project team and management to resolve issues, including escalation as appropriate.
- Provide practical milestones and conduct optimization sessions for identifying solution options and other related improvements throughout the project life cycle that benefit the budget, timeline, and quality of the outcome.
- Facilitate consulting contract negotiations between company and suppliers to achieve the best results possible within established budgets.
- Lead team efforts to purchase hardware and software licenses within established budgets.
- Participate in Operating & Capital budgeting planning and budget reconciliation as necessary.
- Leverage partnerships and professional communications within IT departments and between business units.
- Maintain professional presence and customer satisfaction from internal customer departments and upper management on all projects.
- Identify strengths and untapped sources for alternative thinking and solution options within diverse project teams.
- Maintain/increase level of proficiency in Project Management.
- Provide mentoring, informal coaching, and sound boarding' for other project managers as necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry training.
- Minimum 5 years recent exposure and experience in an IT/Technology environment.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working in a Project Manager role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Familiar with the following development tools: Java 7, JAX-RS 1.1, Jersey 1.17, JAXB, XML, JSON, GSON, Atom, Groovy, Spring Data, cURL, Advanced Rest Client, Apache Jmeter, Eclipse JUNO, Evaluating API manager and Gateway Server from various vendors like WSO2, Layer7, Apigee, Mashery and 3Scale etc.
- Specific Project Management related training/certification.
- Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office based tools.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
