Our client is a high profile Government Agency with offices located throughout Australia. The department is looking for multiple experienced Mainframe Developers to join their state office in the ACT. Working with the Environment and Release Team the successful candidates are to provide technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the software platform. The is an initial 12 month contract position commencing immediately with a rewarding hourly rate on offer.

The successful candidate will be required to;

  • Design, construction, maintenance and testing of software using the Cool:Gen 7.6 Toolset and Mainframe facilities as necessary
  • Conducting analysis of functionality and data issues
  • Deliver and maintain technical documentation
  • Transferring skills to other staff.
  • Broader application development and support in Case, Work and CRM functionality

To be considered for this position candidates must possess/demonstrate;

  • Demonstrated Client Server and/or Batch program development experience using the Cool:Gen 7.6 Toolset.
  • Demonstrated SQL experience in a MVS/CICS/DB2 Mainframe environment and associated DB2 tools, SPUFI, SQL, DMS (Platinum and Princeton), FTS (File Transfer System)
  • Strong MVS ISPF/Rexx/Cobol knowledge;
  • Strong CA:Gen administration and installation experience on MVS and Windows platforms and;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
