Position Description:

We are looking for an Interaction Designer familiar with and excited about using a Lean UX/blended team agile methodology. You are fun, fearless and fast. You have skills in interaction, interface, visual design and usability and love putting your designs into action. You believe that the best way to validate an idea is to prototype it and get it in front of users as quickly as possible.

 Major duties include:

- Guide designs from concept to launch: working closely with team members (developers, QA and business analysts) to develop and iterate design ideas

- Create design direction for our applications through collaborative design sessions

- Partner with engineers to design and build CSS/HTML5 front-ends for browser, tablet, and mobile in lean iterations

- Sketch, mock-up, describe, or otherwise communicate interaction and visual design direction and details

- Conduct usability tests and perform UX research to help define and drive the UX strategy

- Understand customer needs, business and functional requirements and be able to translate them into a solid user experience

 Qualifications:

- Minimum 2+ years experience in interactive design, usability analysis or visual design and at least 1 year experience in software design or current web application design

- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and an understanding of the dynamics of working on a product team with people who have varied skill sets

- You actively listen to both users and co-workers, you offer and accept feedback openly and work as part of a highly collaborative team

- You can quickly deliver strong design/direction during quick iterations

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of design fundamentals and principles and some knowledge of Front End programming and mobile platforms (XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

- Demonstrated proficiency with appropriate software tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle and/or Axure and Microsoft Visual Studio.NET)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong visualization and prototyping skills

- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Design Guidelines and current web application design trends

- You are okay with designing without having all of the answers and sharing your work before it's done

- You can effectively communicate your design and strategy to both technical and non-technical people

- You enjoy advocating UX and helping your colleagues become better at incorporating UX into their thought process

- Experience implementing Windows Client applications (using Windows Forms or WPF with MVC, MVVM, or MVP patterns) and web applications

- Experience using source control or you are not scared to learn how to use it (TFS and git)

- You want to better understand our users, you know when to get user feedback and when to move on and you are willing to give an idea a try and iterate it to the best design

- You thrive on collaboration

- You understand Lean UX methodology and understand that all team members own the design

- BA/BS or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction/UX Design or Visual Design preferred but not required
