An opportunity presents itself for an ambitious and confident Systems Administrator to join a renowned retail giant. Based out of the Parramatta office, you will be part of a highly challenging, yet rewarding environment that fosters personal and professional growth. Your team will be working on identifying new opportunities to plan, develop and execute large scale technical migrations. You should be enthusiastic about embracing multiple technologies, whilst utilising excellent communication skills to mentor others and further your experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing technical tasks for enabling infrastructure installation and testing.
  • Plan and carry out pre-check activities according to the migration plan (eg, server restarts, patching, apply maintenance update, etc as required).
  • Carry out problem determination both pre and post migration and provide specialist support for relevant systems according to Problem Management standards.
  • Installation and configuration of enabling infrastructure equipment
  • Liaise with business application technical teams to work through application interdependencies for input into the migration schedule.
  • Support the technical environment and take decisive action without supervision or assistance from the team leader.
  • Contribute to documentation of Infrastructure test plans to be used during migrations.
  • Identification of technical tasks and risks associated with migrating Linux and Unix systems

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical and technical problem solving skills
  • Minimum 5 years Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange experience.
  • Experience in supporting clustering technologies
  • Knowledge of SAN disk storage technologies including managing and configuration.
  • Configuration of client network services, including DNS/IP/DHCP
  • Experience with Virtualisation technologies. Eg: VMWare guest and hosts.
  • Scripting skills to support Windows (power Shell).
  • Detailed design and documentation experience.
  • Previous data centre migration experience is desirable.
