Description
Advantage Resourcing are currently recruiting for a senior/Principle component Selection Engineer. To be based in Stevenage on a 6 month contract.
Accountabilities:
Manage Component Selection (as detailed below)
Perform Component suitability risk analysis
Provide analytical component selection advice to designers
Approve the use of components against Project environmental and functional requirements
Support obsolescence reviews, policies, planning, risk aversion & resolution studies
Provide technical support to Purchasing, Manufacturing, Assembly Technologists and reliability experts
Plan, monitor and deliver tasks to agreed time schedules
Skills & Knowledge
Technical expertise, with typically a minimum of 5-8 years ideally within the military, aerospace or automotive environment, relating to one or more of the following component commodities (list in order of preference)
Digital Components
Passives
Interconnection
Analog
Oscillators
Knowledge & Expertise in the field of semi-conductors (digital, analogue)
Component packaging technologies, such as PED's, Lead Free, SMD technology (eg QFN's, LGA's...)Commercial awareness of the specific commodity industry
Awareness of current Market trends, roadmaps, product life cycle and supplier performance
Understanding legislation requirements of RoHS, REACH, ITAR, ECCN, etc
IT literate, especially comprehensive use of MS Excel & MS Access
Experience in the use of Team Centre PDM & SAP would be an advantage
