Sybase DBA Engineer Sydney CBD
12 month fixed term contract

Overview
- An advanced level Database Administrator, with a solid skill-set in Sybase technologies (ASE, Replication).
- minimum 8 years of relevant Sybase DBA experience
- strong knowledge of all facets of ASE 15.0, 15.5 or 15.7
- strong knowledge of Replication Server 15.0 or 15.5
- Sybase tuning using MDA tables of large enterprise systems
Background
- at least 3 years working in a large corporate environment
- ability to work both independently as part of a project delivery team
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong RedHat Linux and/or Solaris skills
Duties
- To be start to participate in design workshops and work with our design team on the key platform design components and design validation
- Design components include Sybase and repserver (we have standards for build so it's more the scale of the build than the base - but this skill set may challenge our standards due to the scale)
- Required to produce design and doco to support large scale consolidation of prod and dev/test Servers onto physical vcs clusters hosted on vblock
- Required to participate in the design process itself around key areas such as multi-tenancy, isolation, memory, io and cpu management.
