Description

We are seeking a Slitter Operator for a 3 months contract role in Plymouth, IN. This is a Slitter Operator position. This individual MUST have slitter, machine operator and troubleshooting experience. They will be performing quality inspections on the products and detecting flawed and defected materials. This individual must be detail oriented and understand the value of speed and expectation.

Hours:
This is a second shift position. The shift is 4-10 hour days and the hours are from 4:15 PM to 2:45 AM

Skills:

-High School Diploma or equivalent required.
-2-5 year's previous experience
-Must have demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting/problem solving ability and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
-Experience with paper slitters and/or material handling equipment, a plus
-Able to work in fast-paced environment with a highly participative work system.
-Willingness to work in a flexible work environment.
-Able to follow oral and written instructions.
-Excellent communication and able to relate well to others in a team environment.
-Good organization and attention to detail.
-Good mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical aptitude and logical problem solving skills necessary.
-Ability to work independently in a safe and timely manner.
-Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety and quality awareness.

Responsibilities:

-Tends to various manual slitting machines, operates material handling equipment, other related equipment and computers in a continuous production/processing operation.
-Is responsible for setting up machine, requiring high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
-Monitors quality of product and removes defective material
-Monitors machine that finished product is with customer specifications, makes adjustments to machine to correct any variance from standard
-Loads raw material into machine, determines and controls the machine cycle - varying and modifying as necessary, and unloads finished product.
-Checks work using prescribed measurement tools.
-Follows production and process specifications or instructions and monitors computer systems, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
-Performs all work in a timely manner in accordance with established safety procedures, and reports any malfunctions or abnormalities regarding equipment.
-Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self and co-workers.
-Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.
-Support and actively participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
-Attend all required safety training/meet all safety objectives.
-Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals as needed
