Software Test Engineer - 6 month contract -ManchesterHi {CANDIDATE.FIRST_NAME},
A key client of ours, based inCentral Manchester, has asked us to provide them with a shortlist of candidates for an urgent role at their head office.
Your role will include;
- Interpreting the software testing needs and developing concept and final solutions to meet their objectives.
- Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts.
- Estimating the time required to complete the work, providing the finished items inline with the original estimate.
- Working as part of a closely coupled, coherent development team to fulfil the business needs.
- Presenting ideas and concepts to the Software Manager and the development team.
- Flexible working style to support the development team in meeting its objectives.
To be considered for this role the essential skills/attributes are: -
1. 3-5 years recent relevant software test experience of Manual Testing, Regression Testing, writing Test Plans, Web Interface Testing and helping write test strategies.
2. Experience of continuous functional & integration testing in an Agile development environment.
3. Ideally with Selenium, iMacros J-unit or similar GUI test tools.
4. Experience of creating test schedules for functional, stress, performance, end to end and long term duration tests.
5. Must have ISEB preferably to practitioner level.
6. Experience in advising software engineering teams about design-for-test.
It is also desirable to have any of the following experience;
1. Experience with testing Web Services interfaces.
2. The ability to confidently construct viable project plans and report to managers.
3. Knowledge of configuration management systems.
