Our client, a major financial services institution, seeks an Operational Risk professional to join their global business, investment banking risk team. The primary role is to develop and manage a robust monitoring programme of trader level controls through a combination of systematic and manually generated reports within Financial Markets and Treasury functions. The role requires the jobholder to have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical skills, good inter-personal and communicative skills as well as excellent knowledge of Financial Markets & Treasury Products.

Other responsibilities of the role include the co-ordination, management and reporting of Internal Audit points as well as attendance at key meetings and other operational risk related tasks and reporting, as directed by the Line Manager.

Key Responsibilities
*Develop and perform daily monitoring processes and controls, including surveillance activities within the Financial Markets & Treasury trading environment.
*Develop and improve monthly reporting of control activities to create a holistic dashboard of alerts across the Financial Markets & Treasury Front Offices.
*Co-ordinate business-wide audit reporting.
*Assist with the ongoing programme of risk and control self-assessments, as appropriate.
*Assist with the preparation of key risk reporting to Senior Management and Risk Foras/Committees, as appropriate.
*Represent Operational Risk in key business meetings and projects, as appropriate.
*Participate in Working Groups for key business change projects; monitor and report operational risk concerns, as appropriate.
*Provide guidance and direction to business areas in relation to operational risk matters, as appropriate.
*Assist with Business Continuity plans and tests, as appropriate.
*Carry out ad-hoc reviews/sample testing of operational processes and controls, as directed, ie in response to generic or specific operational risk concerns, both internally and externally.
*Enhance the profile and understanding of operational risk through the development of key business relationships, both internally and externally.
*Encourage a more pro-active approach to operational risk management through effective support of business requirements.
*Assist to embed and enhance awareness of operational risk issues through presentations and contributions to communication initiatives.
*Participate in key operational risk projects, as appropriate.
*Manage or administer project deliverables, as appropriate.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Specific Qualifications
*Excellent knowledge of Financial Markets/Treasury Products.
*PC literate, especially Microsoft Excel, plus Word, Powerpoint, Access desirable.
*Strong analytical skills.
*Good inter-personal and communicative skills.
*Well developed written and oral communication skills.
*Knowledge and experience of operational risk core practices.
*Strong control culture/risk management skills acquired within an audit, operational risk, operational control, financial accounting, product control or risk management position.
