We have an exciting contract opportunity for a Senior WHS Manager to join our Government client for 3-6 month period. This role is both important and challenging in today's environment and we are seeking someone who can make decisions under pressure and exercise good judgement.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and reporting on any observed issues associated with performance, equipment, safety, procedures, administration and personnel and technical issues related with Equity & Diversity and Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve business practices across the Branch.
  • Fosters a culture of open and constructive communications within the work area and the Branch.
  • Assist other areas within the Branch as required to achieve Branch objectives.
  • Participate actively in meetings and planning sessions
  • Proactively act as Manager when required to represent the work area
  • Deliver correspondence & reports in a timely manner that are accurate and support
  • Administer the program for Branch wide WHS and Incident Management.
  • Advance the Risk Management Implementation Plan
  • Continue with remaining elements of the review of WHS Management System
  • Review WHS information sources and report to management on emerging WHS issues relevant
  • Manage the delivery of WHS induction training

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A current Negative Vetting level 1 Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Formal WHS qualifications
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes of direction or priority
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple demands
  • Have a passion for Workplace Health and Safety and model and promote fair and equitable behaviour
