Electrical Design Engineer (AutoCAD, SCADA, PLC)
An Electrical Control System Design Engineer is urgently required for my client in the North East for this long term project.
Responsibilities Include:
- Liaise with Project Managers and the Mechanical Design Department to ensure the control system integrates into a complete integrated solution
- Take client requirements and specifications and develop into a complete control system design solution, through concept, scheme and detailed design phases of a project
- Establish and maintain good lines of contact with the client throughout the whole life cycle of a contract
- Work to the contract program ensuring milestones for the design and supply of the control system elements of the contract are met
- Monitor and control the target costs for the control system design and supply, for budgetary control purposes
- Produce control systems documentation, including but not limited to functional design specifications, software design specifications, design risk assessments, equipment and device schedules, factory and site acceptance testing and commissioning documents
- Produce PLC/Scada/HMI software as required by the project
- Produce electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings
- Carry out testing and commissioning activities at our build premises on client sites
- Manage and control electrical sub-contractor work packages
- Expedite equipment order and arrange deliveries
- Meet all the company's Health and Safety requirements
Qualifications and experience required:
Essential:
- Qualified to a degree level (or HNC/HND)
- Relevant experience in the design, supply, testing and commissioning of electrical control systems, within control system design/system integrator industry (a key factor)
- PLC/Scada/HMI programming using one or more of Siemens, Rockwell Automation and/or Schneider Electric software programming packages
- Electrical drawing experience using AutoCAD and or AutoCAD electrical drawing packages
Desirable skills:
- Set up and configuration of variable speed drive systems
- Machine safety in compliance with BS EN 13849 standard
