Operations Engineer
Start date: ASAP
Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Duration: 3 months, contract
Core responsabiliteit:
- Monitoring and first line trigger for all incidents
- Respond to Requests for Information and Standard Changes
- Availability reports
Technical Knowledge
- Experience with Gomez, AppManager, Vantage & Nagios
- Basic Network troubleshooting eg Traceroute, ping Telnet.
- Knowledge of SQL and Unix/Linux (Basic Knowledge)
- Able to read and process commands in Linux/Unix
- Awareness of Operating Infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc) used within the organization.
- ITIL understanding with emphasis on incident management
Experience
- Relevant experience in IT Operations or Monitoring Operations team.
- Other significant role requirements
- 24x7 availability and willing to work in shifts
- Fluency in English (written & verbal)
- Experience in working in a 24x7 environment.
Deliverables/Tasks
- Monitor online systems and reporting an incident immediately.
- Monitor offline processes and systems; export, matching, run scripts etc.
- Create incident tickets
- Create periodical reports (peak volumes, uptime, system usage)
- Develop in-depth Product Knowledge in order to resolve customer questions and issues
- Manage Merchant Calls for 24/7 Merchants Services Support at weekends and on public holidays (all locations)
- Provide input to Incident Reports when required.
- Maintain and update monitoring alerts.
