NRL Opportunity; Mechanical Engineer- Shetland IslesOur client currently has a requirement for a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Sullom Voe on a 12 months+ contract.
Mechanical Engineer (Rotating and Static Equipment experience)
Essential Experience -
* More than 10years within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals Industries. Chartered Engineer status is preferred. Previous Project Engineering experience would be an advantage.
* Must be fully familiar with workpack approach to project construction works and have experience in support engineering role, to work with selected Mechanical sub-contractors and other discipline sub-contractors to scope, estimate, manage and document/certify the installation, completion and commissioning of such works.
* Must be motivated and self-sufficient together with ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of field appraisal of design scope and issues and, where required, any necessary interfacing with remote office design group personnel to scope and implement construction and turnaround (TAR) Site work.
* Must be familiar in the interpretation of appropriate national & international industry standards.
* Must be fully familiar with all aspects of hazardous area equipment location.
* In addition, the engineer must have a working knowledge of process equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and storage tanks, and must be familiar with the application of relevant client / national / international industry standards.
* Shall have the ability to generate technical specifications / requisitions and develop through all stages of enquiry, clarification and order, to full vendor technical drawing and document reviews for conformance with specifications and standards. Review of procedures and undertake factory witness testing. Be computer literate and have working knowledge of common software and databases.
