Description
- A Master's Degree in an Earth Science related discipline; or a Bachelor's Degree along with adequate relevant experience may be considered.
- Candidate needs basic knowledge and experience of mudlogging operations, sample examination, petrophysics, LWD and wireline data acquisition.
- Working knowledge of and a willingness to learn more about geotechnical operations support in the following areas:
-Pore Pressure theory and techniques needed to assess PP/FG and wellbore stability;
-Well site geologic procedures and services needed for deepwater and onshore drilling operations.
-Conventional coring, wireline, and LWD formation evaluation tools, operation, and interpretation, and the integration into well design and execution. - Have understanding of the well planning process and how it applies to the well execution.
- Ability as an earth scientist to effectively communicate, interact, and make things happen in a drilling operations workgroup.
- Should possess quick, accurate thinking, and decision making skills, and proven ability to work effectively under deadlines.
- Applicant will need sufficient flexibility to work occasional long hours and an irregular work schedule tied to drilling operations.
- Candidate must pass a functional exam to prove physical capability to perform in an offshore drilling operations environment and attain required offshore marine survival certifications including HUET and SafeGULF..
- Candidate should have a knowledge and experience in drilling operations (preferably some deepwater).
- Ability as a leader to foster cooperation and teamwork across organizational and functional boundaries.
- Demonstrated willingness and aptitude to transfer technology, skills and knowledge by training and mentoring others.
Previous offshore experience is Angola is preferred
