Our client, a leading medical device company based in Galway, have an immediate opening for a senior Quality Engineer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the leading companies in the Medical Device hub of Galway.

Responsibilities:
* Provide quality engineering support to operations, including leading and support root cause driven approaches to problem solving efforts for quality issues
* Recommend and advise on quality aspects of systems, tools, equipment, suppliers and procedures to ensure an effective, efficient and reliable QMS.
* Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
* Liaise with counterparts on all other shifts to ensure there is continuity and strong communication
* Work within project teams to establish process controls that ensure the safety and efficacy of the product, while minimizing destructive sampling
* Update systems and ensure compliance to specifications and procedures in areas of responsibility
* Understand product construction, features and uses at a competent level in order to make decisions on product acceptance standards within their scope of responsibility
* Use and establish analyses techniques and other quality control tools to aid decision-making
* Partner with other manufacturing sites to ensure the requirements of the intra company quality agreements are agreed and achieved
* Create, and approve Change Orders for the area in scope of responsibility
* Lead QPI reporting activities, identifying abnormalities and generating and implementing cross functional response plans as required

Requirements:
* Degree in Quality, Engineering or Technical/Science Discipline.
* Min of 5 years experience working in Medical Device industry in a Quality / Engineering or equivalent role.
* Green/black belt Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.
