Contract IT/SS Storage Engineer- BELGIUM
Job Type: Contract - 6 months initially (likely to extend)
Rate: up to €55 per hour
Start: Immediately
Location: Belgium (Beerse near Antwerp)
The Role
Our client is a multinational, Fortune 500 company and is looking for an experienced contract IT/SS Storage Engineer with a passion for technology to join the Infrastructure Division in their Belgium office (Beerse, near Antwerp).
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Deployment, management, support, troubleshooting of the storage and/or backup environment in EMEA
- 3rd line support for the Backup service in the BIS EMEA setups
- Global project member to align the company storage worldwide with regards to tooling and/or infrastructure and ability to align with globally imposed processes
- Identify optimization opportunities through consolidation or simplification and executes those plans if there are substantial strategic/cost justifications
- Map the needs of the Business Customers to the existing technology and give our business the competitive advantage by delivering them superior storage services
Non-Technical profile requirements
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
- Adhere to processes, Quality and Control according to internal and global imposed regulations
- Some flexibility in working hours is required (occasional over-time or weekend/holiday work)
- Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
- Quick learner, motivated self-starter
- Methodology/Certification requirements:- Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred. Additional certification is a plus.
- Language proficiencies: - English spoken and written and Dutch is a plus spoken and written
