Our client is looking for people that have a great deal (3 plus) years of experience in Oil and Gas that have focused on developing technical, operational courses in the areas of electrical, mechanical, pipeline and plant.

Title: Instructional Designer/Training Development Specialist

Summary: 
Reporting to the manager of the Technical Training and Development team, the Instructional Designer is responsible for design/development, project management and implementation of  training course ware to support Operational Excellence.  The purpose of this position is to analyze, design and develop learning solutions, across multiple modalities, in support of business initiatives and skills development throughout the organization.  This position must work in close partnership with individuals across roles and divisions to develop and execute comprehensive training programs to achieve key organizational objectives and metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Assesses, designs and develops learning programs across a variety of modalities (ex. Web, classroom, distance learning).

 Performs program/project gap analysis; identifying specific project roles and responsibilities and gaps.

 Independently solutions gaps to meet program goals.

 Demonstrates advanced skills in interviewing subject matter experts to determined non-documented technical information that is applicable to training; Analyzes complex information and writes comprehensive training material to a level that is suitable for end-user consumption.

 Coordinates and manages scope, resources, deliverables, and delivery of learning projects internally and with external partners. Provides performance feedback, including forecasting completion dates, identifying risks and issues, mitigating performance risks, and informing management of accomplishments, plans, and activities.

 Conducts pre, during, post project review meetings with SMEs and Training supervisor to outline process guidelines, roles/responsibilities, and review feedback. Reviews and compiles feedback  resulting in one single company deliverable.

 Develops and constructs training manuals, materials and aids ensuring material accomplishes the stated learning/organizational objectives.

 Follows processes and procedures for quality assurance and technical accuracy of training material content.

 Conducts regular evaluations of training and management development programs utilizing systematic instructional design methodology and implementing revisions where necessary.

 Revises existing training materials and programs based on audit results, questionnaires, changing procedures and feedback from internal/external customers, subject matter experts, program sponsors and trainers.

 Proposes plans to reduce classroom time, increase self-study and online learning with proven ROI.

 Proficiency in needs analysis and interpreting gaps and impact potential.

 Ability to work independently and make decisions related to design and development strategies of training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with Four or more years hands-on experience in developing E-learning and classroom training to include 3 or more years of training design, development and delivery experience in a corporate environment.
  • Strong ability to organize, plan, manage, execute and evaluate projects
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and theories (eg, adult learning theory, organizational development, Kirkpartrick model of evaluation, Bloom's taxonomy, etc.)
  • Training evaluation and data analysis experience.
