Contract: 6 months
The rate: Up to £31.00 per hour
Location: Birmingham

The Company:

A leading aerospace client, dealing in the design, development and manufacture of electronic control systems for aero gas turbine engines.

The role:
Our client is looking for a number of supply chain engineers to join their busy team. The supply chain engineer will be responsible for implementing the perfect supplier quality journey into the supply chain to improve supplier process capability. They will also be the technical interface between the supplier and the client.

The supply chain engineer will ensure that the suppliers meet the requirements of the perfect supplier quality journey through supplier visits, auditing suppliers and using problem solving techniques such as FMEA, Six Sigma methodologies and 5 Why to identify and resolve problems.

The Supply Chain Engineer will also be involved in introducing new products into the supply chain, and will work closely with suppliers to ensure that they can meet project and quality requirements.

The Person:

As an experienced quality engineer or manufacturing engineer, you will have experience of liaising directly with suppliers to ensure they meet project and quality targets. Within your previous roles you should have demonstrable experience of utilising problem solving tools such as FMEA, Six Sigma, and 5 Whys to identify problems and suggest improvements to suppliers.

Ideally you will have worked within an aerospace or automotive company, but candidates with extensive experience working with the manufacture of electronics or metals within a low volume, high value environment will also be strongly considered. Previous experience working with New Product Introduction would be preferred but is not essential for the role.

Please note that as this role involves travel to supplier sites candidates must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel.
