The contact is with a consultancy to be on assignment to a large European site in Brussels as follows:

The tasks will involve to sustain the maintenance of its existing information systems and to achieve new Web multitier and Content Management System projects to streamline and modernize its business processes management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

The tasks to be performed, Information Systems Section working environment, and its development projects' life cycle require the following knowledge and skills:

  • In depth knowledge of GIS database design and manipulation
  • In depth knowledge of ArcGIS 9.3.x and 10.x product suites
  • In depth knowledge of operating GIS systems
  • In depth knowledge of JavaScript
  • Optionally, good knowledge of Flex and ActionScript 3
  • Good knowledge of spatial and attribute data manipulation for geographic information systems
  • Good knowledge of relational database systems (eg Oracle)
  • Knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications
  • Good knowledge of modelling tools (eg UML)
  • Good knowledge of software development methodologies (eg RUP)
  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments
  • Ability to work (speaking/writing) in English for all project artifacts and meetings, and a good understanding of French
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, self motivated and experience in team working.

All Web and content management applications projects make full use of the Rational Unified Process methodology as well as Rational Team Concert, Rational Software analyzer, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Quality Manager and Rational Requirement Composer tools.

Therefore, a good knowledge of these development life cycle management tools is an asset
