My client is a public sector organisation looking for a Management Accountant for a role located in either Bristol or Swansea. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of Trading Funds.

Job Purpose
Provide a range of financial support services to ensure the effective financial management of the organisation including, forecasting, planning, budgeting and reporting, in line with business plan, capital investment plan and 10 year forecast, including VFM savings.
Develop strong relationship with designated Directors and key directorate staff, provide accurate and appropriate financial advice and support in line with UK GAAP, FReM, IFRS.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
*Preparation and issue of monthly forecasting and financial reporting for directorates including business as usual, capital and projects, encompasing where appropriate; reports from the data warehouse, management accounts, project dashboards, scorecard, Treasury, SSDL, and fixed assets
*Monitoring and reporting actual spend and income to budget on a monthly basis, including provision of appropriate accrual information in agreement with business/project managers
*Responsible for delivering financial support to designated directorates to include: operating costs, income, capital, BAU and project budgets in agreement with the organisations Directing Board business case development and funding advice
*Responsible for reporting to the CEO and directors for provision and analysis of quarterly and monthly information
*Responsible for financial approval, investment appraisal and analysis within directorate budgets for proposed staff changes, IT CCNs, contractor engagement, and other investment
*Management of the cost centre structure and hierarchy on the finance system
*Responsible for implementing organisational changes into the financial system
*Reviewing and developing improvements in reporting and data quality
*Developing training for business users in conjunction with the learning and development team

Education
*Minimum Part Qualified with appropriate membership of a recognised professional accountancy body.

Experience & skills
*Experience of medium to large finance function - turnover £100m+
*Experience of providing financial planning support to Director level
*Able to build advanced excel spreadsheets and macros competently.
*Experience of high volume data manipulation.
*Experience of variance analysis and board reporting
Desirable
*Experience of Oracle financial system or similar.
*Knowledge of Trading Funds
*Knowledge of Investment appraisal including treasury guidance
*Knowledge of fixed asset accounting
*Knowledge of risk management including
