Infrastructure Architect - Server, Storage - Oil & Gas - Petrotechnical - £400 pd - London

A new requirement for an infrastructure architect working with the Chief Architect to establish the physical architecture and subsequent designs across the CHILI Core, BackOffice and Front Office Infrastructure workstreams.

This includes:

  • Servers
  • Storage
  • Workstation's
  • DR, Backup and Archive

Working with appropriate stakeholders to coordinate and execute all central activities associated to establishing a common approach to designing and deploying infrastructure to global sites across the environment. 

Establish the baseline/as-is of the FrontOffice infrastructure for each of the sites to which the Platform will be delivered

Conduct a gap analysis for each site between the as-is and to-be infrastructure design to establish the changes required to the three areas of infrastructure

Coordinate and execute the planning and local design of the changes required to the infrastructure at a site.

Apply the scaling and sizing model defined by the Chief Architect to establish site specific design's for the infrastructure and establish the bill of materials to which procurement should be carried out against

Operate in the capacity of a Centre of Excellence for infrastructure, providing support and consultancy to sites deploying the platform infrastructure

Experience & Knowledge

Essential:

 Strong Infrastructure technical skills ie Servers (Linux and Windows), Storage (NetApps) Archiving

 Experience of working with deployment programmes encompassing multiple sites and countries.

 Ability to work with multiple IT service providers and managers.

 Oil and Gas E&P experience

 Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines and geographies

Desirable:

 Experience with Petrotechnical desktop environments.

 Significant experience in a similar role in an oil/gas company

TOGAF Certification

This is a London based contract role and you must have some experience of working in the Oil & Gas industry
