Purpose and Description: 
The Senior Systems Administrator will provide reporting, analytics and information management solutions for the pharmacy nation-wide by designing, developing, managing reports and databases of significant size and complexity. The information will influence outcome of management decisions. 

The Senior Systems Administrator acts as liaison between systems users and information technology groups (internal and external). The position will also serve as a technical resource on data availability, structure and field relationships, security, and systems interfaces for multiple programs/systems and performs system administrations. 

We are also looking for someone that can evaluate capabilities and limitations of new and existing technical tools and systems and recommends improvements to processes and reporting capabilities. 

The user requirements vary and generally lack clear definition in some instances. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership and communication abilities in addition to the required technical skills for this challenging position. 

Essential Functions: 
Designing and building databases, data warehouse and data marts 
Understanding Legacy data and mapping data into databases, data warehouse and data marts 
Partnering with business analysts to understand project requirement and determine what and how to build and organize tables to fulfil the business requirements. 
Communicating with business partners, project managers, business analysts and ETL developers. 
Leading the design and implementation of ETL processes using Oracle, MS Access and MS Excel 
Preparing development specifications for developers to execute 
Resolving technical issues in building the databases, data warehouse and data marts 
Tuning performance of large scale databases 
Establishing and implementing ETL best practices and guidelines for performance and data quality 

Required Experience: 
5 years' experience with SQL, Oracle database, Oracle PL/SQL, UNIX and Shell Scripting. 
4 years' experience in data warehousing/business intelligence development and architecture (full life cycle) 
4 years' experience deploying and supporting large, complex data warehouse/business intelligence solutions (full life cycle) 
4 years' experience designing relational (conceptual, logical, physical) and dimensional data models for databases, data warehouse/business intelligence 
3 years of ETL development 
Performing Quality Assurance, unit and system testing as well as complete documentation of deliverables. 
Experience with data cleansing and data quality processes 
Ability to analyze and design methodologies for full system development life cycles. 

Preferred Experience: 
3 years dedicated ETL development using specifically Peoplesoft Oracle 
Experience in reporting tools (Business Objects, Cognos). 
Experience in Health Care Industry. 
Experience in database management. 
Experience in system architectures. 

Required Education: 
BS degree (Computer Science concentration preferred)
