The company:
Consol Partners are currently looking for a Storage Engineer for a 6 month contract in Brussels, Belgium. The successful candidate MUST speak either French or Dutch. The client is one of the largest technology companies in Belgium and are known throughout Europe as being one of the leaders in a number of different areas of software development.
The role:
As storage engineer you will be part of a small team which is responsible for managing the IT infrastructure of the customer.
- Operational management of the storage environment:
- Incident handling: troubleshooting, interaction with 2nd line support engineers and suppliers.
- Change management.
- Keeping documentation and CMDB, patching, labeling up to date.
- Project work:
- Projects related to migrations and/or upgrades of existing storage environment.
- Deployment of storage-related IT components.
- Create operational documentation.
- Develop procedures for operational management.
- You take part in an on-call system.
- You assist your colleagues working on network and systems infrastructure if necessary, to provide customers with an optimal service
Requirements:
- You have a solid knowledge of storage systems and protocols, and have proven experience with NetApp storage.
- You also have a good basic knowledge of the following infrastructure domains or you are willing to learn:
- Networking:
- LAN and WAN
- Cisco Routers and Switches
- Security:
- Firewall, Proxy Servers, VPNs
- Networking:
- You are eager to learn.
- You have good analytical skills.
- You enjoy working in a team.
- You have a strong dose of responsibility.
- You have a good knowledge of Dutch or French and are fluent in English.
