SAP Project Manager/SAP Change Manager - SAP FI/CO SCM - OIL and Gas industry - Dublin, Ireland

My Client is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager/Change Manager to help them with a Greenfield SAP implementation across their Finance and Supply Chain functions. The role will involve working with local managers and professionals in order to ensure that the new SAP implementation is successful.

You will have previous career experience of implementing SAP within Greenfield environments, and successfully introducing changes to policies and procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a major international Oil company on a critical business change project.

The key elements of the role include:

  • Support the Finance and Supply Chain Managers, on behalf of the my clients leadership team, in delivering comprehensive Project Management support and leadership for the successful roll out of the SAP programme. This to be executed on time whilst managing  the expectations and concerns of the BU Leadership Team in ensuring 2013 goals and objectives are not compromised
  • To lead, develop, train and successfully coordinate the output of the newly established SAP team
  • To successfully coordinate, manage and deliver the local activities required to make the Programme a success.
  • Prepare the Business Unit for locally owned, sustainable change.
  • By understanding the culture and values of my client, ensure Programme implementation needs are balanced against unnecessary impact on its operations and people.
  • Coordinate activities of the Local Programme Network (including Local Data Leads, Super Users, Trainers, Testers)
  • Coordinate activities of dependent teams and their respective  Implementation Leads(including Finance, SC, IS, HR, Internal Communications)
  • Work with Central Programme Deployment Manager and team leads (Programme Network Coordinator, Test Lead, Data Lead, Cutover Lead, Support Team Lead)
  • Assist local Project Sponsors, Functional Leadership and HR to fully consider the impact on the organisational structure, roles and the behavioural change needed to ensure not only successful implementation, but sustainable change.
  • Work side by side with the BU General Manager, the Finance and Supply Chain Managers, as well as the broader BU LT,  to keep them appraised at all times of project status, attainment of target goals, business affecting issues and potential conflicts or threats to either success of the project or the operability of the BU
  • Oversee the day to day operations of the Client's Team including Change Management underpinned by an effective Communications Plan - aligned to the Central Programme;   co-ordinate regular meetings, maintain a regularly updated risk and issues log/register, design and implement a local dashboard to facilitate the attainment of critical dates and milestones.
  • Work collaboratively with the BU Leadership Team and other stakeholders to deliver a BU specific, sustainable, Operational Readiness Plan incorporating detailed Stage Gate specifications and clearly outlined Go/No Go decision criteria.
  • Lead the Local Programme Network Team in their Programme activities including Operational Readiness Assessments, Role Mapping Workshops, Launch Event and Town Halls, UAT, Train the Trainer
  • Own and drive the local Operational Readiness Plan and Deployment Plan with a relevant transition to a post go-live steady state. 
  • Manage local risks/issues in a structured and systematic way in alignment with the Central Programme's approach.
  • Responsible for local coordination and completion of core deliverables including Role Mapping, Data Cleanse, IS Readiness, Training Attendance
  • Coordinate the provision of relevant local input to enable effective completion of the Design and Build phases of the programme
  • Work with the central Programme Teams to localise or coordinate the localisation of key deliverables eg Comms Plan, Training Context, Local Change Impact Mitigation, Engagement Events, Status Meetings, Post Go Live Strategies
  • Assess, measure, track and monitor the progress of the local change and manage engagement of the business and stakeholders throughout
  • To the extent allowed by Project activity and progress, participate in wider Deployment Team meetings and community build activities

Experience & Education:

  • Project Management and Change Management experience of business change projects preferred, particularly relating to Deployment and Handover Readiness
  • Experience working with third party service providers preferred
  • Experience of Requisition to Pay, Materials and Logistics and Finance processes preferred
  • Experience working with HR on resource demand, people management and organisational change preferred
  • Demonstrable evidence of managing teams in a complex business change environment
  • Experienced Graduate knowledgeable of methodologies and approaches deployed by the major global consultancies in support of enterprise wide process and systems implementations
