Oracle Financials Applications Development and Support

The proposed resource will be required to provide application support for;
The modules of the Oracle Financials System (Purchasing, iProcurement, Payables, Receivables, Inventory, Fixed Assets, iExpenses and General Ledger)
Oracle based Criminal Legal Aid Payments system (interfaces to Payables)
Further system development, enhancement and upgrade of Oracle Financials, and to facilitate skills and knowledge transfer in the foregoing areas to staff.

Client facing role, the proposed resource must liaise with the business to design, develop, test and deliver Oracle Financials based solutions in challenging timelines displaying both functional and technical skills.

1. Modular Knowledge of Oracle Financials

Strong overall knowledge of the core modules of the Oracle Financials 11i/12 systems (Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Travel and Subsistence and the General Ledger) is required.

The resource proposed is expected to have an expert knowledge of individual modules of Oracle Financials and have the skill set to quickly grasp and understand key support issues which may arise in respect of each module based on previous experience and from discussions with users, review of system manuals and configuration documents etc.

2. Creation and follow-up of Service Requests (SRs) with Oracle Support

Previous experience in the creation and follow up of SRs and the use of My Oracle Support to resolve systems application problems is required.

3. Oracle developer skills

A high level of experience, expertise and technical competence is required in relation to;
Creating/Modifying Oracle forms using Forms 6i
Creating/Modifying Oracle Reports using Reports 6i
Creating/Modifying Oracle workflows using Workflow Builder
Creating reports using Oracle Discoverer
Creating/Modifying PL/SQL procedures within an 11g Oracle database
Re-applying customisations to Oracle standard forms/workflows/PL/SQL procedures following the application of patches
Migrating developments between environments
SQL Plus.

In addition some expertise in Unix/AIX skills would also be desirable.

4. Teamwork skills

Experience is required of working effectively within a team and displaying good communication and interpersonal skills. The resource will be required to work effectively as part of a team compromising of both internal and other 3rd party (on-site) support personnel.

5. Documentation skills

Excellent and rigorous documentation skills are required. These will be needed to update existing system configuration documents, prepare system change specifications, prepare procedures documentation for the proper planning, installation, security, support and maintenance of the system as well as update training materials, manuals etc.
