Senior DataPower Developer - Reading - Payments - 6 months

Purpose of this Role

The position is for a DataPower consultant to increase the temporary project capacity of the Integration Development team within IT Build.

The Integration Development team is a highly motivated technical team involved in the delivery of a large number of critical projects and services. The DataPowers are a key component of the timely provision of data to the Inc systems. The Data Integration team are responsible for the design; development and maintenance of innovative solutions that support the delivery of value add services to IT build customers.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to an Integration Development manager, the candidate will be a senior consultant/developer with demonstrable DataPower development experience on a wide variety of technically challenging projects.

The candidate may also be expected to work on other development aspects of DataPower projects such as analysis, architecture and design as required by the company.

The candidate will need to be a self starter, with a proven ability to quickly bring themselves up to speed on both the technical project details and the company policies and standards in place.

Essential Criteria

Technical

  • Excellent all-round application integration knowledge;
  • Experience of developing DataPower services on XI50/XI52 appliances with firmware versions 3.8 and above;
  • Experience of developing Multi-Protocol Gateways, implementing the following functionality:
    • AAA Policies
    • Service Level Management;
    • Load Balancing and Application Optimisation;
    • Payload Validation;
    • Transforming payloads using XSLT.
  • Working knowledge of the cryptographic and PKI stack implemented in DataPower;
  • Working knowledge of XML, XSD and JSON;
  • Experience of debugging and logging;
  • Appreciation of the principles of REST;
  • Experience of development on AIX and/or Solaris operating systems, using Shell Scripts;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to understand a business problem and pick an effective and pragmatic solution.

  • Must be able to work under own initiative with limited guidance from team manager due to the fast pace and high volume of work managed by the team;
  • Proven ability to integrate quickly within a project team and company;
  • Good consulting and relationship management skills and an ability to work comfortably at all levels of the organisation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Good prioritisation skills;
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
